  • The Five Sisters Historic Sites and Structure Survey
    The Vermont Division for Historic Preservation and the Planning and Zoning Department will hold an Informational Meeting at 5:00 PM, Wednesday July 21, 2010 in Contois Auditorium to present historic survey findings about the Five Sisters neighborhood, share research information and to answer questions. The Vermont Advisory Council for Historic Preservation is scheduled to review the survey data at their July 29, 2010 meeting in Plymouth Vermont, and evaluate the survey results in consideration for potential listing the entire neighborhood as a Vermont State Historic District.

  • Burlington Passes Resolution In Opposition to Arizona Law SB 1070
    The Burlington City Council passed a resolution opposing Arizona law SB 1070 on June 14, 2010.  The resolution was signed by Mayor Kiss on June 17.  The full text of the resolution, "Opposing Arizona Law SB 1070 and Affirming Burlington as a City of Immigrants" can be found here.  Mayor Kiss's press release can be found here.
  • BURLINGTON ONE OF "10 BEST CITIES FOR THE NEXT DECADE"!
    Kiplinger's Personal Finance has named Burlington as one of the "10 Best Cities for the Next Decade."  Our community's innovation, creativity, and commitment to environmental initiatives helped earn this recognition.  Learn more about the Kiplinger's announcement here and view the City's press event about the announcement here.   • Development Proposals
    Interested in finding out about new development currently being proposed in the City? The Zoning Permit Request Status Report provides information (updated daily) regarding zoning permit applications being reviewed by the Department of Planning and Zoning, while Development Review Board, Design Advisory Board, and Conservation Board meeting agendas list projects that are going to be the subject of a public meeting in the coming weeks.
  • 2010 Street Maintenance Program - Paving List & Map
    The Department of Public Works is in our 2nd year of the enhanced Street Paving Program. Click here for this summer's street construction repair map, and here for the repair list.
  • Send Us Your Pictures
    The City of Burlington is looking for images that best portray what Burlington has to offer for both residents and visitors.  We’re asking for your help in this process, if you have any digital photographs you would like to share with us we’d really appreciate it!  Pictures of Burlington scenery, the waterfront, Church Street, or even events such as 4th of July or Winter Festival.  We’re hoping to post some of these photos on the City of Burlington’s website and possibly in other locations.
